Brides worldwide have added the perfect touch to their bridal looks with intricate headpieces, veils and bridal accessories from the well-established Linzi Jay brand for over 23 years. But that is not all the brand has to offer. Linzi Jay designs bridesmaid and wedding dresses under the brands of Charlotte Balbier and Amanda Wyatt. One of the brands is a cause for excitement in Germany.
Charlotte Balbier Bridal, which has long been at the forefront of the British bridal industry, has now gained it’s very first stocklist in Germany at Atelier Ja located in Bayreuth in the beautiful state of Bavaria.

The Charlotte Baliber brand was founded by third generation British designer Charlotte Balbier in 2003. Colleague and designer Tabatha then stepped in and began to add her own creative talent to the brand.
“Tabatha has introduced her own creative flair to the Charlotte Balbier brand, designing gowns with unique structure and fabrics used, always with a Charlotte Balbier bride in mind. All of the designs are unique bohemian gowns with a pretty and feminine twist.” said Neil Flatley, Chief Executive of the Linzi Jay brand.
Corinna recalls discovering the LJ brand by pure coincidence at the Interbride 2018 . But that didn’t stop her from placing an order on bridal accessories and Amanda Wyatt gowns. It wasn’t until she returned home that she noticed the collection extends much further that what she originally ordered.
“Back in the store a few days later, I opened the Linzi Jay bag and flipped through the brochure. There I first saw the wonderful jewelry of Arianna Tiaras – especially the back jewlery. And then the gowns of Charlotte Balbier. I immediately went to the website to look at the collections and was thrilled. Great cuts, great designs, individuality, romance, elegance … those were my first impressions,” recalls Corinna.
After several successful orders and a business partnership falling into place, Corinna flew to the UK to meet the Linzi Jay team and view the collections first hand.
“I love it when I can visit labels on site. This is a very important aspect for me in choosing a brand to offer in my store, because there is nothing like excellent and personal contact with business partners. After a really warm welcome from the whole team in the showroom, I got my first look at the Rose Quartz dress and I was in love! All Charlotte Balbier dresses have something unique. Romance and elegance meet harmoniously in every style of bridal gown … whether vintage, boho, classic or princess. The fabrics are wonderfully selected and have an excellent quality. I ordered 7 dresses and I’m still thrilled,” exclaimed Corinna.

“All of the gowns are sketched out and fabrics are sourced from within the UK. The Rose Quartz 2019 collection introduces a unique brocade organza as well as the ever-popular Chiffon jumpsuit. Within the Bohemian Blush 2018 collection, we introduced a daring forest themed silk chiffon fabric on a beautifully simplistic design. The Untamed Love 2017 Collection was the announcement of the first floral dress . . . The ‘Untamed Love’ which is still as ever popular as it was back then,” said Neil.

“On the Charlotte Balbier website we have a page of Signature Balbier which are previous collections merged into one. You can expect to see pure dupion silks that sit alongside soft cotton laces, perfect for a Boho Bride!” exclaimed Neil.
So when will be the next chance for retailers to view the collection?
“We will be at Interbride as normal and hopefully we will return to 4-Kidz exhibition in Germany in 2019. In addition we will be at The White Gallery at London in March,” said Neil.
Designer Days
“We are delighted that Atelier Ja is the first German retailer of Charlotte Balbier Bridal and we are hoping that 2019 is going to be a big year for both retailer and designer. We are holding a designer day in the store on the 11-12th January,” said Neil Flatley.
Atelier Ja will be hosting a ‘Welcome to Germany’ evening to introduce Tabatha as the designer of Charlotte Balbier Bridal. This will be followed by a full day of consultations held by Corinna Hertel and Tabatha. Atelier Ja is offering free Linzi Jay head pieces or veils with every Charlotte Balbier gown that is purchased.
