Bridal Times had the great opportunity to catch up with Managing Director, Ruth Larkin to talk about the new Dessy 2024 Collection.

Ruth Larkin, Managing Director
Congratulations on the launch of the new Dessy 2024 collection! Can you tell us about some new highlights?
Thank you – this collection is so full of highlights we can’t wait to unveil it to our retailers across Europe. Not only is it design, but it’s also influenced by the invaluable feedback from our customers which ensures leading creativity as well as highly commercial, re-ordering styles! This season dazzles with new exquisite fabrics, flattering and unique necklines, sleeve detailing and silhouettes that complement all sizes, shapes and styles.

Is there a particular style that your team is excited about?
We are very excited to unveil the Margot gown, styled optionally off the shoulder or on the shoulder, with its cascading ruffle sleeves for Grecian goddess vibes, mixed with a pleated metallic fabric for Hollywood goddess vibes. This dress brings all the excitement to any bridal party, along with exceptionally strong commercial value to any retailer with its beautiful colour options and suitability to so many sizes and silhouettes.

What about colors? What are some colors that are trending at the moment?
We offer our dresses in such a wide array of colors to match every possible theme, but the top trending colors we are seeing at the moment are pink rose tones, nude taupe tones, greens and lilacs. The other emerging trend that is set to explode in the seasons ahead is effervescent metallics which we love.

Mix and Match has been a popular choice amongst bridesmaids for quite some. Can you tell us more about the Mis-Matched Color Trend?
It’s very on trend for brides to choose mix and match for their bridesmaids at the moment. Whether it be different styles all in the same colour, or the same dress in complimentary color shades. A perfect way to combine the alternate color look is to consider venue location and bridal flowers to try to include colors that align with the colour theme of the wedding and compliment the surroundings.

What is your advice to retailers who are interested in picking colors and styles, whether it be for bridesmaids, mother of the brides and guests?
Choosing a new collection with so many colour options can be very daunting, that’s why each season we offer our retailers the samples first in the most popular colors, commercial and trending colors to make sure that they are supported by the strongest sample selection in store. Then they receive swatches of every available colour in each fabric to support them to find the perfect option for each customer.

When is the next opportunity for retailers to view the collection first -hand?
Visit us on stand C18 at Harrogate Bridal Week where my team and I can’t wait to introduce you to the new collection in person and discuss the exciting incentives we have this season.
