BBFW 2026: On the Shoulders of Giants…
From April 22 to 26, 2026, the international bridal industry will once again turn its attention to Barcelona, as Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026 returns to the iconic Montjuïc venue. Widely regarded as the leading global platform for bridal fashion, the event continues to redefine the boundaries between couture, creativity, and commerce.
“On the Shoulders of Giants”
In the Fall of 2025, we witness the first launch of the 2026 theme, “On the Shoulders of Giants,” which pays tribute to those who came before us – the designers, artisans, and behind-the-scenes talents who have shaped the bridal industry. It celebrates both legacy and innovation while inspiring and encouraging new creative voices to emerge. This narrative also reflects a broader cultural shift within fashion—one that now places value in inclusivity, diversity, and collaboration as key drivers of progress.

Building on a Legacy: BBFW 2026 Goes Global
The 2026 edition promises to be the most international and expansive to date, bringing together over 420 brands and around 34 runway designers from across the world. With approximately 87% international participation, BBFW reinforces its position as a key meeting point for designers, buyers, and industry professionals seeking to shape the future of bridal fashion.

More than just a showcase, the event acts as a global business hub, connecting bridal fashion houses with new markets and commercial opportunities. Across five days, Barcelona becomes the epicenter of innovation, craftsmanship, and trend forecasting for the 2027 bridal season.
Runway and Marketplace: A Tribute in Motion

A favorite feature of BBFW has always been the combination of high-impact runway shows and large-scale trade exhibitions. From April 22–24, 2026, over 1,000 looks will grace the runway, offering a comprehensive preview of upcoming bridal and eveningwear trends.
The excitement will first kick off on April 22 with Barcelona Bridal Night, featuring the Spanish debut of renowned French couturier Stéphane Rolland. He will present an exclusive haute couture collection in a multidisciplinary spectacle that fuses music, fashion, and art. The show will showcase 80 sculptural looks, architectural silhouettes, and a masterful command of fabrics—signature elements of Rolland’s distinctive couture vision.

The expansive trade show, running April 24–26, will also create a dynamic marketplace where leading brands showcase their collections, connect with buyers, and secure international distribution. Together, this unique combination of runway spectacle and commercial opportunity makes BBFW an immersive platform, keeping it at the forefront and providing a global snapshot of where bridal fashion is headed next.
Social Impact and Industry Responsibility

This year, haute couture takes on a charitable role through a collaboration between Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, Stéphane Rolland, and Fundación Kálida, a non-profit foundation in Barcelona, Spain, providing free emotional, social, and practical support to cancer patients and their families. The initiative features 22 original sketches by the designer available on their website, with all proceeds supporting the foundation’s work for providing free care to cancer patients and their families.
BBFW further reinforces its commitment to social inclusion through its partnership with Fundación Ared, a Barcelona-based non-profit dedicated to the social and professional integration of women in vulnerable situations through training and employment, which produces the event’s official merchandising.
Inspiring the Next Generation

BBFW 2026 is more than a fashion event—it is a strategic platform where creativity meets business, and global connections are forged. With its most ambitious edition yet, the show is set to inspire, connect, and elevate the entire bridal ecosystem.
As Barcelona once again becomes the heart of the bridal world, all eyes will be on the trends, talents, and innovations that honor the giants of the past while shaping the visionaries of tomorrow.
