Riccardo Serravalle, Founder, CEO & Creative Director

With numerous developments in recent months, Bridal Times had the great opportunity to catch up with Riccardo Serravalle to talk about his latest Eternal Collection 2025 by SERRAVALLE and the special business connections he maintains with bridal boutiques.

Building from the previous “Metaphysical” and “Celestial” Collections, tell us about your approach to your new 2025 Collection?

The new collection unfolds the third chapter in our existence which is finally complementing our portfolio. From very clean tailoring to the “Sparkle Party”, to ethereal romantic lace gowns, we now have the full range in our collections. Of course, it’s always an evolution and next year there will be a new piece of the puzzle. Every year we are adding something new, but this year we are able to see the diversity in our collection.

In what ways does this collection reflect your personal artistic evolution as a designer?

When we started with our first collection, Metaphysical, it was a more clean and tailored look with a very different approach to bridal. But in the past two years we have been getting requests for more lace and romantic gowns. The initial request was just lace, and not how it should look like or what kind of details. For me, designing the collection almost came naturally to be honest, since I already had some ideas in mind and of course from being inspired by neo-classical architecture. But we wanted to do everything with the right timing and now lace is introduced in the collection.

Tell us about this year’s amazing campaign and the ideas behind it.

For the campaign video and imagery, we selected a very special place, the Labyrinth Park of Horta in Barcelona, which is considered to be one of the most iconic filming locations around the world, in this case from 2006 movie ‘Perfume’. For the collection, I had in my mind “Eternal Love” and when we go back into history, a Labyrinth is a place where people had their most intimate moments and spiritual journeys. I wanted to shoot the campaign in a Labyrinth but it was only just a coincidence that the movie was filmed in that very location!

What are some standout pieces or designs from this collection that you are excited about?

CANSU

CANSU Gown

As in many of my styles, they somehow have a relation to family and friends, and this gown is dedicated to my best friend. This dress features a new quality “liquid” satin, beautiful pearl neckline detailing, adorned with a waterfall effect in the back. It’s truly a romantic look and evolution from our signature style.

DINA

DINA Gown

Dina is an ethereal quintessential gown of our collection featuring Chantilly lace, illusion detailing, delicate beaded appliques cascading from the top down to the hem with a majestic chiffon cape which can be later removed.

ELLODIE

ELLODIE Gown

The Ellodie gown draws inspiration from a captivating Italian model and it’s a good merge between sexy and an elegant style. With a fitted cut, high open slit and neo-classical detachable chiffon sleeves, it exudes a feminine yet alluring look.

LUCIA

LUCIA Gown

Lucia, dedicated to my sister’s godmother, is a requested addition to our collection which is a beautiful, satin ballgown with an illusion bodice and dramatic long train adorned with exquisite detailing. This dress is really perfect for a princess and stands out as one of our most opulent ballgowns in the collection.

JEAN

JEAN Gown

Jean is another gorgeous full organza A-line ballgown with asymmetrical pleat detailing on the bodice featuring a slit beautifully folding out of the skirt, resulting in a truly captivating effect.

NEVINA

NEVINA gown

Nevina gown is named after my godmother and is one of the most spectacular styles from the Eternal collection. It offers an exciting 3-in-1 design with a skirt, an overskirt, and a breathtaking veil. The gown features a light all-over sequin underlay, leaving you with no choice but to say, ‘Wow!

KAYLA

KAYLA Gown

Kayla is a new version from an existing style which is a sleek mermaid crepe gown with a beaded bodice. This particular style continues to be a favorite amongst brides, so this time we are featuring this gown without the sleeves.

CLARA

CLARA Gown

This gown is dedicated to our beloved client, Clara Wengel Brautmoden in Königswinter, Nordrhein-Westfalen. Clara has always been supporting the SERRAVALLE brand from the very beginning, and we wanted to dedicate a dress especially for her. Clara is an elegant off-the shoulder A-Line gown, with a transparent bodice featuring a romantic, floral corded lace throughout the gown.

Of course I can go on and on, but these are just a few highlights from the collection.

How valuable has it been for you to work so closely with your bridal boutiques?

Throughout the year, I am traveling all around Europe personally meeting and connecting with our bridal shops, and that is not only Germany. We also have really neat bridal Pop-Up Events, just recently in Munich with Bride Cycle, to offer a different kind of bridal experience.

But of course, it is crucial, also from the perspective of developing a collection, that it’s “On-Point”. After our first preview of the 2025 collection, I was on tour with the collection so that I had time to make changes and adjustments according to valuable feedback from retailers. We want to continue to maintain close business relationships with our bridal shops since its best feedback we can ever have. This is a “collaboration” between everyone; we are a team, and I believe that makes a big difference.

Not only are bridal shops in Germany able to carry your collections, but also worldwide. Tell us about it!

As of the beginning of this year, the SERRAVALLE collections are now available in 11 different countries, strategically distributed through carefully selected boutiques. We are proud to say that besides the DACH Region, we have representation for BENELUX region, Iberia, England, Scandinavia and are open to inquiries from other countries.

Finally, what is next for SERRAVALLE after the launch of this collection?

We will be present at the European Bridal Week from the 13th to the 15th of April and also at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week from the 19th – 20th of April. We are also super excited to showcase our 2025 Eternal collection on the runway at BBFW on the 20th of April at 10:00 am, along with a special internal pre-party celebration. And just recently, we have decided to exhibit at the White Gallery in London from the 8th – 9th of May.

The SERRAVALLE brand will be represented in the best locations and moments of the season, and we are very grateful to be a part of it. We are excited for boutiques to see the new collection and all the efforts we have put in over the last few months.

Naturally, we would be delighted to present the collection in person to retailers who are interested. They can reach out to us directly at:  sales@serravalle.co.

We would like to thank Riccardo Serravalle for this interview.
