The Harrogate Bridal Show 2019 Show Trends

Top UK and international names unveiled their 2020 collections at The Harrogate Bridal Show, UK’s longest running bridal trade show

Spaghetti Straps

Spaghetti straps have made their way into bridal from mainstream fashion and are perfect for the increasingly popular destination weddings. The delicate straps show off just enough skin for a hot destination wedding. This style can be accompanied by any kind of gown, whether it’s tiered tulle or a slinky beaded dress. Allure, Kitty Chen, Rachel Allan, Randy Fenoli Bridal and White One all showcased this fun trend in their latest collections.

Split

Brides looking for something a little daring will be pleased to see leg splits returning to bridal fashion. Chic Nostalgia’s signature boho look works seamlessly with this trend, with the less obvious split hidden by the floaty skirt. Dando London and Sposa have opted for a central split accompanied by heavy beading. Q’Nique’s gown takes inspiration from Chanel, using the famous tweed fabric as a juxtaposition to the daring split.

Off the Shoulder

Off the shoulder dresses are incredibly versatile, with a different style for every bride. Whether you are looking for a bardot neckline, or a voluminous sleeve, this style is perfect. Allure and Galizia Spose featured dropped shoulder dresses, providing a pretty, yet sexy look. Kitty Chen, Ladybird and Victoria Kay presented bardot necklines creating beautiful silhouettes.

Deep V Backs

It’s not all about the front of the dress. This season, deep V backs are on trend. If you are looking for the back of your dress to be just as stunning from the back, this trend is for you. It works on all dress styles. Allure take a simple lace gown and introduce the V to compliment the pretty sleeves, while Eliza & Ethan introduce the deep V on both the front and back on the gown for perfect symmetry. Dando London’s deep V is edged with beautiful beading.
