New season, New Look

With new interior trends in 2018, you not only give your shop a contemporary look but pure elegance

With around 1,200 exhibitors and 146,000 visitors from 138 countries, the imm Cologne in Germany is one of the largest trade fairs for furniture and interior design worldwide. Every year, the latest trends of the year are presented, which are not only relevant for private living but also for outfitting your bridal shop.

Colors: Less is more
In 2018, dark, matte green and blue shades set the tone – whether as wall paint or in the form of textiles and accessories. Gray and natural tones are also in fashion. If you want to treat your shop to a new look, the well-known motto applies: less is more. When painting the walls, it is best to limit yourself to low-key demure colors so that dresses and suits can stand out. Dark blue and gray shades are most suitable, as they make white and cream-colored dresses radiate. If you would like to have your bridal shop in a more classic in color, pink is making a return. It’s possible to do pink in 2018 but not in the sweet candy color type. The pink hues can be in a more darker, softer form.

Furniture: Luxury instead of Vintage
In contrast to the walls, you may think a bit more decadently when choosing new furniture in 2018. While old-school furniture has brought charm to every store a few years ago, an extra pinch of luxury is now in demand. Especially with dark velvet covered armchairs and sofas which are now well received. The design language of the furniture may be organic. That means: Dynamic and powerful curves instead of corners and edges.

Deco: Shine instead of Bling
Anyone who thinks of a bridal shop imagines tulle, taffeta and bling. But these times are long gone. Today, elegant decorations count, restrained but noble. In the new season, brass accessories are especially in the forefront. But again, less is more. Add highlights, but not too much. After all, clothes and suits should be in focus and not your decoration. A good way to implement this trend, is to have brass-colored clothing rails or light fixtures that brilliantly places your stock in scene.

The Alternative: Urban Jungle
In recent years, the trend towards Urban Jungle has continued to establish itself. Furniture and accessories made of natural materials, lots of green foliage and Monstera prints from wallpaper to posters – the more of this decoration, the more comfortable. At first glance, this trend seems to be completely unsuitable for a bridal shop but with a skillful use, it also comes well into its own. An elegant option for example, are large framed art prints designed in the Urban Jungle look, which could be casually hung on the wall. Again, however, practice the use of quieter designs, as the interior would quickly appear restless.

Spot on
In addition to investing in new furniture and colors, 2018 will focus on one thing in particular: lighting. With good effective lighting, not only your gowns stand out better, but also your guests. A particularly sensible investment, is an App-controlled Smart-Home solution for the dressing area. This allows you to simulate a wide variety of lighting situations via touchscreen – from daylight to disco ball.
