Newcomer Andrea Masser first opened her bridal fashion boutique in 2016 in Styria Austria. In 2019 she has won the “Austrian Wedding Award” for the second time. What is the newcomer doing right? Bridal Times had a chance to catch up with Ms. Masser.
Ms. Masser, why did you take part in the “Austrian Wedding Award”?
I think it’s great that through this award, bridal shop businesses have the opportunity to be presented in the media, bringing potential customers to the business. I wanted to take this opportunity and I am very happy with the results.
How do you prepare for participation in the award?
There are certain criteria that must be met. The business must be optimally presented in word and pictures. Customer reviews must also be submitted for participation. This is of course time consuming. In November was the deadline for submission of the participation papers, in the summer I start with the preparations. So it is not too stressful in addition to the daily business.
Does it cost to participate?
Yes, but the sum is affordable for everyone. It is worth it. I’ve only been in the industry since 2016, but already well known for winning the award twice. Many customers come to me and report that they have read about me in the newspaper. Participation in the award is a great advertisement and PR.
With what wishes do brides have?
Of course, finding the perfect dress is the most important thing. But also undergarments, accessories and shoes are a topic.
Do you also offer shoes and accessories?
Yes, a bride can be fully outfitted with me completely. From hair accessories to shoes. We have sizes from 32 to 60 for every fashion preference and every budget.
Brides can get their makeup done with you?
Exactly. I am a trained make-up artist, airbrush make-up artist and style consultant. I think it’s great and that’s also my special concept, to be able to give the bride an all-round styling. Getting everything out of one hand takes organizational stress out of the brides. If you want, you can even rent a vintage car from me.
Are you also present on the wedding day?
Oh yes, if it is preferred. I style the bride and help her in the dress. It is a wonderful experience for me to admire the result in front of the altar. I love my work and I am glad that I had the courage to open a bridal boutique as a newcomer. That was the right decision.
What do you think makes a successful bridal shop?
Good service and a personal consultation. Building a bond of trust is very important. And, of course, a good assortment geared towards the target group.
