Tips from Austrian Wedding Planners „Die Hochzeitshummel“

Austria– Year 2020 one of the most turbulent wedding years – postponements, changes in plans and numerous cancellations were on the agenda of many bridal couples due to the corona crisis.

Autumn also promises to be exciting. In turn, wedding planners become crisis managers: The Austrian wedding planning team, “Die HochzeitHummel” immediately adapted to the changes and completed training as a Covid 19 authorized representatives with the Red Cross.

“It’s no longer just about postponing appointments, but rather obtaining current and mandatory information. Communication with and everyone involved, from the bridal couple to the photographer, has completely changed. We support bridal couples in observing all guidelines in creating the most beautiful weddings of 2020, despite the virus and the tightened rules. What bridal couples currently need is security, so it was a matter of course for us to stay up to date in this area and relieve them of this great burden, “explains Pauline Walloßek, wedding planner and Covid-19 representative from the company” Die Hochzeitshummel “.

Covid Compliant Weddings

The most current framework, published in late July, aims to ensure that weddings are still feasible.

Wedding expert Susanne Hummel therefore recommends bridal couples to think about the following:

  • Keep the guest list as short as possible. The fewer guests, the fewer regulations there are to be observed.
  • If possible, celebrate outdoors, e.g. in a tent. This way you avoid the restrictions for closed rooms.
  • Stay up-to-date with governmental wedding regulations.

In practice, this means that new ideas must be added to the planning of weddings. For example, keeping your distance and congratulating is a different procedure this year: hugs are replaced by fist bumps.

Brides Daring to Push Forward

Like so many other bridal couples, Patricia and Christoph lived through very tense weeks and months prior to their wedding as it was unclear if it would even take place. They cut down on the guest list, canceled the big celebration and in a few weeks, re-organized their wedding completely with “Die HochzeitHummel”. On July 4th, 2020 Patricia and Christoph finally gave each other the “yes-word”. Patricia encourages all bridal couples: “Instead of a big wedding with about 75 guests, we decided to get married on a small scale. Together with our wedding planner, we planned a celebration for 21 people and implemented it in our own garden. Even though that was plan B, the day turned out to be a dream! The small wedding was much nicer than we would have ever expected. ”
