Parisian couturier Stéphane Rolland, one of the leading names in contemporary Haute Couture, will headline the tenth anniversary of Barcelona Bridal Night, the signature gala of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. It will be the designer’s first show in Spain—an event where fashion, architecture and culture converge as part of his creative universe and his vision of couture as a form of artistic expression.
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, the international leader in bridal fashion, will take place in April 2026 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue. It will provide the stage for Mr. Rolland’s Spanish debut, during which he will present a collection featuring both retrospective pieces and a selection of 20 exclusive looks created for the occasion. The showcase will feature 80 Haute Couture creations, evenly divided between bridal designs and evening and red-carpet gowns.
“Presenting my work at BBFW is a great honor,” says Mr. Rolland. “Barcelona shares with Haute Couture the same devotion to form, volume, and artistic expression. My dresses are emotional architectures, and this is a unique opportunity to share that spirit with an international audience in a profoundly cultural city.”
Albasarí Caro, Director of Fira de Barcelona’s event, adds: “Having Stéphane Rolland at the tenth anniversary of the Bridal Night marks a milestone that reflects our commitment to excellence. His presence elevates the artistic level of the event and reinforces Barcelona’s status as a global epicenter of design and Haute Couture. His visual language and ability to move audiences through form make him the perfect guest for such a special edition.”
Mr. Rolland Brings Young Talents to the Runway
True to his commitment to nurture emerging talent, Mr. Rolland has invited 24 fashion design students from IED Barcelona, ESDI, and LCI Barcelona to take part in the show. Eight students from each school will work closely with the maison Stéphane Rolland for six months, crafting their own designs with fabrics provided generously by Gratacós. Their creations will open the catwalk before Mr. Rolland’s own collection.
“I deeply value the participation of design students from Barcelona,” says Mr. Rolland. “Encouraging creativity among young designers is vital—it keeps their passion alive and allows their talent to flourish.”
Along these lines, Albasarí Caro emphasizes: “BBFW is committed to giving visibility and opportunities to new talent. We share Mr. Rolland’s belief that supporting young designers means ensuring constant innovation and excellence. Barcelona’s fashion schools are not only shaping the future of this craft, but also the city’s international creative projection.”
Stéphane Rolland will be the star of the tenth anniversary of the most iconic night of BBFW, joining other great designers who have shown their collections at previous editions, such as Vivienne Westwood, Giambattista Valli, Viktor & Rolf and Elie Saab, among others.
This year’s event, which will take place on the evening of April 22, 2026 will feature a special setting: the location chosen will be Hall 8 of the Montjuïc venue, built for the 1929 International Exhibition to house the Metallurgy, Electricity and Power industry showcase. Its Art Deco style with expressionist influences and its imposing polyhedral dome will be the setting for the event and will strengthen the idea of continuity between the catwalk and the trade show, design and business, in an emblematic setting for fashion and contemporary creation. It will be one of the central events of BBFW in a particularly significant year for the city, which in 2026 will be the world capital of architecture.
Stéphane Rolland: Fashion as Sculpture in Motion
A member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Mr. Rolland is considered one of the most influential couturiers on today’s Paris scene. He founded his maison in 2007, following a distinguished career at iconic houses such as Balenciaga and Jean-Louis Scherrer, where he became the youngest artistic director on Avenue Montaigne. Since then, Mr. Rolland has developed a distinctive style that blends the purest French couture tradition with a personal sculptural, art-driven vision. He is celebrated as a master of textile sculpture and theatrical elegance.
His designs still grace the world’s most celebrated women—including Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Paz Vega, and Nieves Álvarez, his muse and a regular on his catwalks. With impeccable craftsmanship, refined volumes, and powerful silhouettes, Mr. Rolland transforms each gown into a work of art.
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week: A Global Epicenter of Bridal Fashion
Organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Catalan Ministry of Business and Labour, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week stands as one of the foremost international platforms for bridal fashion. The 2026 edition, held from April 22 to 26 at the Montjuïc venue, will bring together over 400 brands and around 40 designers on the runway, highlighting not only bridal collections but also ceremony, guest and red-carpet fashion.
With Stéphane Rolland’s debut, BBFW reaffirms its commitment to excellence, creativity and the art of couture—a must-attend event for all who see fashion as a form of cultural and artistic expression.
