Tell us more about the new Küss die Braut 2024 collection. Where did you get the inspiration for this collection?
From everywhere and nowhere! I find inspiration in things that I particularly like: in interesting people and conversations, while walking, while traveling, while reading, while having a good meal, in new fabrics and materials, and above all in peace. Throughout the year, I collect inspirations, sketches, snippets in a box, and then I withdraw from everyday business for a certain period of time to design, always listening to the same quiet piano music and enjoying solitude and peace with my ideas! In 2024, the 80s and 90s play a major role and there is more asymmetry in the collection than ever before.
What do you think makes Küss die Braut bridal gowns so special? Would you say you have a certain style?
The KUESS die BRAUT look is simple, casual, and authentic with vintage charm. Our bridal fashion is inspired by the bohemian look of the hippie era, the elegance of the 50s, and the celebration of life in the “Roaring Twenties”. The KUESS die BRAUT collection embodies a modern style that we would rather call “bridal outfit” than bridal gowns. The designs are a casual, new combination with an urban touch for confident and open-minded brides. Our bridal dresses are purposely designed simple so that brides can bring their own style into play through individual accessories.
What are some highlights from the new collection?
To give some examples, I would like to name four very different looks that express our diversity in the collection: Our “Wolke” (Cloud), brings beautiful volume to the KUESS die BRAUT world with an unorthodox tiered skirt. The clean one shoulder wedding dress Cara, captivates with a leg slit and ruffled top. Cleo is a charmingly light bohemian wedding dress that stands out with deep cuts and ruffled arms. Last but not least, is our Marcella, as jumpsuits have always played a big role at KUESS die BRAUT. Marcella is a vintage wedding overall with long sleeves, V-neckline and beautifully wide legs.

Is there a particular style or dress that you are personally enthusiastic about?
I love our VOKUHILA wedding dress Tiffy – so simple and yet so special, depending on styling and choice of accessories, the gown can look so different. Great!

Not only do you design wedding dresses, but Küss die Braut also offers accessories!
Our simple style has the advantage for brides that they can indulge themselves beautifully with accessories. Here we also offer “non-bridal” favorite pieces that can be wonderfully worn in everyday life even after the wedding. For example, our cool, crisp-cut denim jacket with lace appliqués, colorful silk ribbons or our new, stylish oversized knit sweater. It is knitted from noble mohair and silk and will surely become the new favorite sweater after the big day. But many lace boleros and bridal tops can also be combined with jeans in everyday life and delight brides not only on just the wedding day. In 2024 we will also introduce two beautiful necklaces that delicately emphasizes the neckline.

How important is sustainability for Küss die Braut?
Sustainability and mindfulness have always been part of our company philosophy – internally, with our customers, and also in our production facilities. In our conscious line “KUESS die BRAUT – GREEN by DESIGN”, we develop our models from scratch so that everything unnecessary is avoided and only ecological, recycled, and sustainable fabrics, materials, and elements are used as much as possible. For the sake of the environment, we do not produce eco bridal gowns for our warehouse. Only when a bride has decided on her dream dress will it be made for her in our partner atelier in Izmir. In general, our rather simple style has the additional advantage that many items can still be worn after the wedding.

As a bridal designer, what are the most important elements of an “ideal” wedding dress?
Life is not always black and white, but mostly very colorful. There is no perfect wedding, but the most beautiful one at this moment. And there may not be the ideal or perfect wedding dress, but exactly the right look for a certain bride. It is important that a bride feels comfortable, beautiful and not dressed up in something she is not. She will shine the most and can simply enjoy her big day.
