Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week 2026: “On the Shoulders of Giants”

Fashion Shows: 22-25/ Trade Show 24-26, 2026 - Barcelona

BBFW 2026 expands its bridal universe to special occasion fashion with top designers

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week launches its new edition with a tribute to the brands and designers that have made it as the global epicenter of bridal fashion, now set to spotlight evening and formalwear. With an ambitious vision and a refreshed visual identity, from April 22 to 26, 2026, BBFW will once again transform Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuïc venue into a stage where fashion, business, and creativity converge.

With more than 400 brands expected -80% of them international- and in the range of 40 designers presenting fashion shows, the 2026 edition broadens its horizons. It will highlight the latest creations for brides and grooms, and also spotlight evening, ceremony, red-carpet, and cocktail looks, along with accessories, reflecting the diversity of an industry that embraces the full value chain of style for life’s most dazzling moment.

Organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Government of Catalonia’s Ministry of Business and Labour, BBFW 2026 will take place in halls 1, 2, and 8 of the Montjuïc venue, hosting fashion shows, a trade exhibition, and shared spaces for professionals and guests. Collections for 2027 will be unveiled from April 22 to 25, while the trade show will take place from April 24 to 26.

In this way, the event reaffirms its role as a leading global platform for creativity and business, and as the only international rendezvous that unites runway and trade show, bringing together established couture houses and new voices in design and craftsmanship.

On the Shoulders of Giants

The upcoming edition will be held under the theme “On the Shoulders of Giants”, a homage to every figures—both renowned and unsung—who have made it possible for BBFW to stand as the global leader in bridal, evening and special occasion fashion. The campaign pays a tribute to the industry, the brands, the designers, and to the city of Barcelona for its unwavering support, while also reclaiming the legacy of historically overlooked female creators, claiming their decisive role in design, art, and fashion.

In this context, the visual identity of BBFW 2026 draws inspiration from the creative strength of women, embodied by the figure of German designer Lilly Reich (1885–1947). A pioneer in interior, furniture, and exhibition design, Reich was a key collaborator of Mies van der Rohe on projects such as the German Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition, where the iconic Barcelona Chair, appearing in the campaign image, was first presented.

Her work -long relegated- now takes center stage: as a symbol, the campaign turns to the iconic chair historically attributed to Mies yet born of a process in which Reich played a decisive role. In the year Barcelona holds the title of World Capital of Architecture, this symbol becomes a bridge between architecture and fashion, two disciplines bound by a shared language: design with purpose.

On the other hand, the image of BBFW 2026 celebrates Catalan talent and the uniqueness of every woman. The new visual concept combines a black evening ensemble by Yolancris with a bridal look by Marta Martí, both Catalan labels, interpreted by two models of different generations and styles. The contrast between the two figures highlights fashion as a creative space that transcends conventions and allows us to express our essence and individuality.

“This edition is born out of gratitude, and also from a desire to move forward with greater awareness. We stand on the shoulders of the giants who came before us—maisons, women, artists, individuals, ideas, and the city itself—to look ahead with a more conscious and transformative vision”, says Albasarí Caro, Director of BBFW.

Barcelona Bridal Night celebrates its 10th edition

One of the most anticipated moments is undoubtedly the Barcelona Bridal Night, which in 2026 celebrates its tenth edition with a special commemorative format: a haute couture show by a global designer that will join the ranks of other ‘giants’ of international fashion who have headlined Bridal Night in the past, such us Viktor & Rolf, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli, and Vivienne Westwood, among others.

Barcelona once again affirms itself as the capital of bridal and occasion fashion, with BBFW 2026 strengthening its standing as the international benchmark platform. An edition that celebrates the legacy of the industry and projects its future with ambition and gratitude toward the ‘giants’ who made it possible.
