But once stepping inside a local business or grocery store, a hard reality sets in that we all hope is just temporary- all the unusual changes made to keep work environments safe during the pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So how are bridal shops coping with all the new regulations and adjustments?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From changes in store operation, reduction in the number of guests to the hidden emotions behind facemasks, we hear the voices of bridal retailers on the major challenges they have faced to keep brides and employees safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stella Rockstroh of Princess Dreams in Berlin<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5429\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridal-times.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/StellaBrautkleidBrautmodeHochzeitHochzeitskleidHeiratenberlinPrincessdreams.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridal-times.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/StellaBrautkleidBrautmodeHochzeitHochzeitskleidHeiratenberlinPrincessdreams.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.bridal-times.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/StellaBrautkleidBrautmodeHochzeitHochzeitskleidHeiratenberlinPrincessdreams-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 301px) 100vw, 301px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The corona crisis has brought many new challenges and restrictions for our bridal shop. The biggest change in our \u201cpink realm\u201d was clearly the social distancing rule. We love to shake hands and hug our customers once they find their dream dress. This missing emotion was an extraordinary challenge for us that we had to get used to. Now we express our joy even more with words, facial expressions and gestures. After all, kindness is a feeling and can also be conveyed through loving words. Another big thing to get used to, was wearing masks. No faces to be seen and the warmth of heavy breath while wearing the face maks was very uncomfortable at the beginning. But we have also dealt with this challenge and now consider it normal. We even made a virtue of necessity and wear uniform pink masks in our team, which are almost a fashion accessory. For our customers, it was pity that they were only allowed to bring one companion with them until the easing of restrictions. The opinions of friends in particular is very important to many brides and they didn\u2019t want to go without it. However, this problem was resolved through creative video conference fittings. <strong>Overall, the corona crisis hit us hard, but it also made us more creative and motivated. The challenge next spring will be to provide tailoring capacity for all of these postponed weddings and new brides. In addition to the known hygiene measures, there was a big change in the type of appointments. But we personally perceive wearing the facemaks as the greatest limitation. Primarily for the bride, but also for us. There is so much emotion in facial expressions. Not only when looking in the mirror, but also when communicating with each other. We miss that very much and we feel it deprives the consulting experience. We maintain a very emotional and cordial relationship with our customers and it is strange to do this \u201cat a distance\u201d. Human closeness, in the form of a loving hug is a huge part of our job and we have gotten the feedback from our customers that it\u2019s all very strange as well. In spite of the changes this crisis brings to all of us, we, the team at \u201cMagic Moment\u201d, are definitely working to give our brides and grooms their \u201cmagical moment\u201d without worrying about their health. With the face mask regulation, sufficient disinfectants, a reduction in the number of accompanying persons and by appointment only, we strive to provide a carefree experience for our customers. Unfortunately, thanks to the infection protection measures, many wedding couples are not allowed to carry out their long-awaited dream wedding this year, which of course also leads to losses. In spite of everything, &#8220;Magic Moment&#8221; stands for its own little world. A world in which the bride and groom can leave the stress of their everyday life and the troubles in crisis behind them and concentrate fully on the love of their life and their dream wedding. Each bride may only bring one accompanying person, the rest of the people who would like attend join in live via the Internet, and we offer sufficient WiFi for this. The customers have a great understanding and really do just take one accompanying person with them. It actually has a positive effect on us in this regard, because <strong>there is no longer a chaos of opinions in the consultation, and it is much calmer. The bride dares to listens much more to herself.<\/strong> Every customer who walks in must wear a mask and first wash and disinfect their hands &#8211; the same applies to every employee in our shop. The consultation with our brides is based on warmth and a loving and relaxed atmosphere. We maintain a friendly relationship with our brides and many of our fittings end with a warm hug. A person&#8217;s facial expression provides information about emotions and thoughts. Now the eyes, posture and voice play a decisive role. We quickly learned to let our eyes speak under our masks and to meet our customers with bright eyes. In order to be able to keep the recommended minimum distance during the consultation, <strong>our brides bring a trusted person who will help them put on their gowns<\/strong>. Our bridal stylist verbally guide the bride and companion and provide assistance. This creates wonderful moments between the bride and her guest, who can experience and share this intimate moment of buying a wedding dress even more intensively<strong>.<\/strong> The most important thing for us is to provide our customers with security and clarity. We provide regular updates on our website and our social media channels, and each customer also receives an email before the appointment with the latest measures in our stores. Our brides have accepted our measures very positively and we meet them with a lot of understanding and gratitude.
