From jumpsuits to bridal capes and daring new colors, modern brides are taking bolder fashion choices for their wedding day style. What about choosing a classy bridal hat to finish off the bridal look, instead of the traditional veil or flower crown?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bridal Times had the opportunity to meet “Hat expert” Margret Porwoll from raum23<\/strong> in Braunschweig, Germany to talk about the re-emergence of the bridal hat.<\/p>\n

Why do you think hats have been such an essential fashion accessory?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I believe hats complete the overall look and style of a person. A delicate headdress simply looks magical.<\/p>\n

Would you say that hats are becoming a more of a trend?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can clearly see an upswing in bridal hats as an alternative! I think a lot of people are just unsure about it. For this reason, I first offer to try a variety of head pieces in my shop and the customer quickly realizes that it\u2019s a lot of fun it can either change or highlight the type of person. In being experimental, a clear picture emerges of what you find suitable for yourself. Since I shape the brims of the hats from hand and design the cuts of the hats, I can respond to individual wishes and needs of the customer.<\/p>\n

What about brides who want to wear a hat on their wedding day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At weddings, fewer and fewer brides feel like wearing a long veil. Without having anything in your hair is too little. So, together with the customers, I develop what they imagine, headdresses or hats after they have looked around my shop here at raum23. I am making more and more hats for brides and grooms as well.<\/p>\n

What would you recommend to a bride-to-be if she wants to wear a hat on her wedding day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mostly brides choose a headdress that doesn\u2019t interfere with kissing and can stay on your head all day. It should fit the person and go well with dress. Since the head pieces are often made of delicate translucent fabrics, special attention should be made to lightness of the hat when choosing the materials.<\/p>\n

What would you advise guests who are thinking about wearing a hat to the wedding? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I pass on the experience that the bride and groom are honored when the guests make an effort with their own outfits. Of course there is no upstaging the bride!<\/p>\n

What different styles can a bride wear on her wedding day?<\/strong><\/p>\n

As much as she wants! However, it should not turn into something stressful.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Are there rules or tips for choosing the right bridal look?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It should fit the person wearing it and they shouldn’t look \u201cdressed up\u201d or strange. I recommend listening to your gut feeling and would be happy to help with my advice and experience.<\/p>\n

What about wedding guests? Do they choose the hat or outfit \/ dress first<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Mostly the dress, because we can make the headdress or hat and adapt it.<\/p>\n

Do you have a personal favorite in your bridal hat collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I prefer the silk flowers with their complexity and transparency.<\/p>\n

Where do you get the inspiration for the many different types of hats you create?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ideas just line up. A lot comes from working and seeing how the material behaves.<\/p>\n

Which part of your work do you like most?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like versatility. The firmness and malleability of felt in winter, the delicate straw materials in summer and the light and fine feathers, pearls, flowers …<\/p>\n

In terms of subject matter, I particularly like to work for weddings. The time of developing the specific color, size and shape of a headdress with the customer so that they feel good on such a special day. And to be part of something that has to do with love!<\/p>\n
