With many years of experience, Wedding Planner and Event Manager Stefanie Kox of Krefeld, Germany knows what it takes to open a brand new bridal concept store. Bridal Times had the opportunity to catch up with Stefanie Kox to learn more about her challenges and successes in opening her new location.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When did you open your first bridal shop and how long have you been in the business?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been working in the industry for quite some time. To be exact, eight years as a wedding planner. In October 2017 our bridal boutique was added.<\/p>\n

Congratulations on the opening of your new Bridal Concept Store! What inspired you to take this step?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That’s very nice, thank you! Clearly it was our brides and the passion for the wedding industry. We love our profession and it makes us happy to make people happy!<\/p>\n

What were your first steps in the planning process?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We got together with our interior designer and first of all looked at what we have and where we want to go. It was important to us that we transport this feel-good atmosphere that prevails in the smaller boutique into the new boutique and I think that we have done a great job.<\/p>\n

Providing the right atmosphere for brides is important part of the bridal shopping experience. How did you decide on interior design such as colors, furniture and lighting?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new boutique is modern and creates a warm atmosphere. We work a lot with wall colors and different lighting sources and the furniture is well chosen so that you could actually put in any living room. We love this “home-feeling” and want our customers to feel the same way.<\/p>\n

In our salons we work exclusively with carpets and it feels as if our brides find their dream wedding dress at home in an absolute feel-good atmosphere.<\/p>\n

What was the most challenging part of opening your new location?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since we do wedding planning as well, we stepped into the new boutique project almost in the middle of the season. For us, the whole year is our busy season and therefore my team and I had to plan very well so that we could do everything just in time for the opening in September. But it works great, because I have a wonderful team of ladies who always keep my back free. In addition, my family, especially my husband, supports me in everything since I now have even less time with our two children during the busy phases. It’s not always easy, but we do the balancing act between family and work very well. My children are already little wedding professionals.<\/p>\n

What is the new concept of your bridal shop and what can brides expect?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The store has a wider layout. Brides will not only find their dream dress with us but also be inspired. There will be an inspiration table for wedding decoration which we will redecorate on a regular basis. We consult on all topics of weddings, give tips and offer workshops for brides and their companions and so much more. We are bubbling over with ideas and we wanted to implement them – this will now happen in the new store.<\/p>\n

Tell us how you will be celebrating your grand opening?<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the 13th of September, we start with a little warm-up, pre-opening for invited guests. On Sunday, September 15, we will celebrate our official opening from 1pm to 8pm with all those who would like to join us. There will be a bridal fashion show, a great cartoonist on site who draws clients, a make-up & hairstylist for interested customers, lots of prosecco and treats for snacking. Of course, on Saturday we will also welcome our first customers in the new boutique.<\/p>\n

What would be your advice for someone interested in opening their own bridal shop?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be brave and listen to your heart – then you can do anything!<\/p>\n

Throughout your journey, what has been the most rewarding experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every bride and guest that radiates with happiness in our store. Every moment, no matter the wedding planning or boutique, we make our bridal couples and brides happy and make them smile. These are the most beautiful moments!<\/p>\n
