Bridal shops from all over Europe, even as far as Australia and South Africa, attended the spectacular Bridal Event Amsterdam to view the launch of the 2020 collections from the top influential brands of Modeca Bridal, Randi Fenoli Bridal, Herve Paris, with Poirier and Abrazi also joining the event.<\/p>\n
In the middle of all the excitement, Bridal Times had the great pleasure and opportunity to speak with Alden Misolas, Head of Design at Modeca Bridal and creative mind behind the stunning Modeca wedding gowns.<\/p>\n
Originally from the Philippeans, Misolas studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Fashion Department in Antwerp, a well-known breeding ground for famous fashion designers, and got his first start in designing ready-to-wear clothing before finding his passion in bridal. Since this time, Misolas has continued to \u201cWow\u201d with his wedding gown designs and we couldn\u2019t wait to ask about the new 2020 Modeca collection.<\/p>\n
While keeping demographic preferences in mind, Misolas says, \u201cModeca is a traditional collection with dresses that are modern. I combine traditional dresses with slick and simple dresses of cr\u00eape and simple lines. I still believe that less is more and I try to design dresses that don\u2019t overpower the woman. In this way, you still concentrate on the person wearing the dress and not the other way around.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked about exciting features in the new collection or stand-out gowns such as the Esmee from the 2019 Le Papillon by Modeca line, Misolas adds, \u201cEvery season we make a dress that stands out, it\u2019s either the color or the choices of fabric. In the Le Papillon by Modeca collection, the theme now is Spring, so there are a lot of flower colored laces on the dress. We offer the option to have everything in Ivory if one doesn\u2019t want colored flowers, but these are the items that are really new in the 2020 collection.\u201d<\/p>\n
Misolas has a creative hand in the entire Modeca portfolio and adds that the BEA 2019 is a very exciting moment. \u201cThis is the first presentation and we have many different shops here from several countries. I am delighted to see that stores are coming to me personally to congratulate me on the new collections. Plus, they have feedback on more technical things and for me, this is all positive. The more they talk to me about the dresses, the better I become.\u201d<\/p>\n
Creativity can be a challenge for some, but Misolas says, \u201cI have had a passion for fashion and have been drawing sketches of dresses since I was very young. Every year, having new ideas stimulates me. Every season, when I know that I have to start creating a new collection, immediately my energy boosts and I just start creating.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the end of it all, Misolas says, \u201cThe most rewarding feeling is when I see one of my dresses being worn by the bride. That makes me happy and if all the shops are happy, they are all selling well, then I am satisfied.\u201d<\/p>\n
