Prince Harry and former actress Meghan Markle tied the knot in May, and as we all\u00a0know the young\u00a0bride wore a simple elegant dress, but the main focus was on her extremely\u00a0long veil, something of a\u00a0fairytale. So will the XXL veil become a trend amongst brides? Bridal\u00a0Times caught up with Bianco\u00a0Evento to get their take on bridal veils.<\/p>\n

What are the different types of veils?\u00a0<\/strong>
\nThe veils can be distinguished in many ways: First, there is the classical arrangement by length, from\u00a0the blusher over the elbow and fingertip length, to the floor-length veils. In addition, you can choose\u00a0between single or multi-layer veils, two layers are the most popular, and even three layer designs\u00a0which aren\u2019t seen very often.<\/p>\n

The two layer veil offers the option of covering the bride’s face during\u00a0the wedding ceremony. Another criteria is the embellishments: There are veils\u00a0with edges of satin,\u00a0precious lace, corded, or simple cut edge with crystals and pearls made by\u00a0hand, or even the veil end\u00a0comb can be embellished as well.<\/p>\n

Which veil harmonizes with which dress?<\/strong>
\nA veil is a classic bridal accessory. There is a matching veil for every wedding dress. However, there\u00a0are a few rules that must be followed to perfectly match the gown and the\u00a0accessory. The more\u00a0elaborate the wedding dress, the simpler the bridal veil should be. As\u00a0an exception, our innovative\u00a0veils start with a cut edge at the top and finish with lace at the\u00a0bottom (S248). When made like this, a lace veil\u00a0can be worn even with an elaborate wedding dress. Simpler dresses, on the other hand, can be combined\u00a0depending on your taste, with detailed lace veils as well as delicate designs. If both the gown and the\u00a0veil have lace applications, they should harmonize with each other\u00a0in the pattern. In addition, the\u00a0color must match. Since all of our wedding dresses and most of the accessories are made from the\u00a0same materials in our own production facilities at Bianco Evento, the veils can be combined not only\u00a0with the gowns but also with boleros, bridal purses and even bridal shoes with exactly the same\u00a0shade of color.<\/p>\n

Which veil is currently in high demand?<\/strong>
\nThe demand depends very much on the respective country. Among our bestsellers are sleek, knee-length veils and lace-decorated cathedral veils. As with wedding dresses,\u00a0accessories are much more\u00a0in demand in the color ivory than white. Soft tulle veils are much more popular than classic tulle, as\u00a0they are much lighter and have an elegant, graceful look.<\/p>\n

What do you think about the veil that Meghan Markle wore for her wedding – is it setting a new\u00a0trend in Germany?<\/strong>
\nSuch a long veil is certainly a great eye-catcher, but must be removed for practical reasons after the\u00a0wedding ceremony. There are certainly some brides who like to wear this look. However, the trend\u00a0will not last long. As an alternative to the XXL veil, we recommend the bride chooses a three-meter-long cathedral veil or a chapel veil about two meters long and a shorter veil for the ceremony after\u00a0the ceremony. (Z.B.S238).<\/p>\n

Should retailers in Germany now have a larger selection of long veils?<\/strong>
\nOne or two designs are enough. In the Bianco Evento collection, retailers will find a five-meter veil\u00a0with corded edge (e.g., S214), lace (e.g., S220), or satin edge in addition to the three-meter-long\u00a0classics with lace (for example, S200), which is available in both single-layer and double-layered with many wonderful patterns from Guipure, Spanish or French lace. In\u00a0addition, Bianco Evento will be presenting the 2019 collection\u00a0in a few weeks along with will two\u00a0wedding dresses inspired by the royal wedding look. Of course, these styles should not be missing in a good\u00a0bridal shop.<\/p>\n
