BBFW 2026 expands the boundaries of bridal fashion in its most international edition to date<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) 2026<\/strong> will stage its most expansive, international and elevated edition to date. Moving beyond traditional bridalwear, this year\u2019s showcase broadens its scope to include eveningwear and red-carpet designs with renewed prominence. From April 22 to 26, Fira de Barcelona will host around 420 brands and 34 runway designers, reaffirming its status as the leading global platform for the bridal industry while further cementing Barcelona\u2019s position as an international capital of fashion and creativity.<\/p>\n

Over five days, BBFW\u2014organised by Fira de Barcelona\u2014will bring together leading couture houses, rising talents, tastemakers and industry insiders across halls 1, 2 and 8 at its Montju\u00efc venue. The event stands as a key meeting point to gauge the market and discover the trends set to define the 2027 season\u2014not only in bridal, but also across eveningwear, formalwear and accessories.<\/p>\n

Under the theme \u201cOn the Shoulders of Giants<\/strong>\u201d, a tribute to both recognized and behind-the-scenes figures who have shaped the industry, this year\u2019s edition campaign champions diversity and global reach, reinforcing its positioning as a platform where fashion, business and culture intersect.<\/p>\n

Event director Albasar\u00ed Caro<\/strong> explains: \u201cBBFW 2026 will once again place the spotlight on the work of leading designers, championing artistry, talent and creativity, while paying tribute to the extraordinary craftsmanship behind each piece\u201d. She adds, \u201cAt the same time, it will strengthen the industry\u2019s ability to expand into new territories, identify high-potential markets and create meaningful opportunities for brands within an increasingly global and competitive landscape\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 2027 Collections Take the Runway<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The week will open with the runway shows from April 22 to 24, presenting over 1,000 looks by 34 designers, 60% of whom hail from outside Spain. Among the key Spanish names are Yolancris and Isabel Sanch\u00eds, alongside international heavyweights such as Peter Langner and Demetrios. The breadth of perspectives and aesthetics will offer a global snapshot where reimagined classicism, contemporary experimentation and new narratives in bridal and eveningwear coexist.<\/p>\n

St\u00e9phane Rolland in the Spotlight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A standout moment of the week will be Barcelona Bridal Night, marking its tenth anniversary on April 22 with the Spanish debut of renowned French couturier St\u00e9phane Rolland. He will present an exclusive haute couture collection, conceived as a multidisciplinary spectacle blending music, fashion and art, the show will feature 80 sculptural looks, architectural silhouettes and a masterful command of fabrics\u2014hallmarks of Rolland\u2019s distinctive couture language.<\/p>\n

In parallel, 23 students from IED Barcelona, LCI Barcelona and ESDI have been selected to create one-of-a-kind pieces under the designer\u2019s mentorship, using fabrics generously contributed by Gratac\u00f3s. The project will culminate with their debut on the Bridal Night runway, underscoring BBFW\u2019s dedication to supporting emerging talent and encouraging generational renewal within the industry.<\/p>\n

A Truly Global Trade Showcase<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Scheduled for April 24\u201326, the trade show reinforces BBFW\u2019s standing as a key commercial hub, bringing together approximately 420 brands in its most international edition to date. A 87% of participants represent 36 countries worldwide, including the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Ukraine and Poland.<\/p>\n

The line-up features Spanish labels such as Marco & Mar\u00eda and Cortana; American brands including Maggie Sottero, Morilee, Allure Bridals and Justin Alexander alongside Australia\u2019s J. Andreatta, \u2014making its debut\u2014. European names such as Caroline Castigliano, Sassi Holford and Rembo Styling. Leading couture houses including Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, Georges Hobeika, Viktor & Rolf, Antonio Riva and Jenny Packham will also be present.<\/p>\n

Asia continues to assert its strategic importance, with a strong presence from brands such as The Atelier by Prof. Jimmy Choo (Malaysia), Serina and Kiyoko Hata (Japan), Wang Feng (Shanghai), Vaishali Studio (India) and Joli Poli (Vietnam), among others. To further strengthen ties between Asian markets and the global industry, a dedicated cocktail party will be held on April 23, bringing together professionals from across regions to foster connections and generate new business opportunities.<\/p>\n

The show is also expected to boost buyer turnout from Europe, Asia, and as well as countries such as United States and Brazil, reinforcing its role as a must-attend commercial platform for brands seeking international expansion.<\/p>\n

Social Impact and Industry Responsibility<\/strong><\/h3>\n

BBFW 2026 places a strong emphasis on sustainability, implementing recycling processes and promoting responsible resource management across the event, while also deepening its social engagement through initiatives that connect fashion with meaningful impact. This year, haute couture serves a charitable purpose through an initiative led by Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, St\u00e9phane Rolland and Fundaci\u00f3n K\u00e1lida.<\/p>\n

The project features 22 original sketches, created and donated by the French designer, available for purchase via the foundation\u2019s website. All proceeds will go towards its mission, focused on providing comprehensive, free and complementary support to cancer patients, as well as their families and caregivers, at Hospital de Sant Pau, where it supports more than 2,400 people annually. The initiative also includes invitations to the fashion show and an exclusive post-show cocktail with the designer.<\/p>\n

The event further supports social inclusion through a collaboration with Fundaci\u00f3n Ared, which produces official merchandising while promoting training and employment opportunities for women in vulnerable situations within the textile sector.<\/p>\n

Strategic Partners<\/strong><\/h3>\n

BBFW 2026 is backed by a selection of leading partners enhancing every aspect of the event, from runway production to backstage and guest experience. Kevin Murphy and MAC Cosmetics will lead hair and makeup for the shows, while AIRE Ancient Baths will offer an exclusive wellness space for models. In hospitality, Grand Hyatt Barcelona, alongside Hotel Almanac Barcelona, Hotel SLS Barcelona and Nobu Hotel Barcelona, will serve as official partner hotels.<\/p>\n

The event\u2019s staging will be elevated by floral design from Araik Galstyan and the infrastructure of Losberger De Boer in the Trade Lounge.
