In October 2025, C\u00e9leste Himmlische Brautmoden<\/strong> from Bahlingen, Germany was honored with the “Best Bridal Fashion Award” at the Wedding King Awards in Cologne. In conversation with owner Yasmin Ponader C\u00e9leste<\/strong>, we look back on her journey, the significance of this award, and two decades of change within the bridal fashion industry.<\/p>\n

How did it feel for you and your team to be named “Best Bridal Fashion” at the Wedding King Awards?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was incredible. We were all so excited. Experiencing this moment together as a team was truly overwhelming. We were hugging each other, celebrating \u2014 it\u2019s a feeling that\u2019s honestly impossible to put into words. You can only experience it.<\/p>\n

How did you decide to take part in the Wedding King Awards, and what was the application process like for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was actually my team\u2019s idea. For me, it felt completely out of reach at first. But my team had heard about the award and really wanted to participate. The entire process was incredibly exciting, because you\u2019re being evaluated and inevitably compared to others.<\/p>\n

The application itself was quite straightforward. I first applied in writing, then there was a call, and after that, we were officially in. But that\u2019s when things really started to get exciting.<\/p>\n

What were your first impressions of the Wedding King Awards, and what significance do you think they hold for our industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At first, I couldn\u2019t really assess it at all, we had never heard of the award before. But once we were part of it, I realized just how big it truly is. The number of bridal boutiques applying, the sheer number of service providers involved, it\u2019s impressive.<\/p>\n

I believe this award offers all of us a wonderful opportunity to receive recognition for the work we put in every single day. We make people happy and usually work quietly in the background so that a wedding is simply perfect in the end. Often, our work goes unnoticed. This award allows us to step into the spotlight and show what we do and who we are \u2014 and that\u2019s truly wonderful.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

What went through your mind when your name was finally announced?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly, my mind went completely blank in that moment. I just reacted. The tension leading up to that second was immense \u2014 indescribable. The emotions really came afterward, together with my team. That\u2019s when the joy multiplied, and we all embraced each other. It was pure relief and happiness.<\/p>\n

Most of all, I was incredibly happy for my team, because they gave absolutely everything. They are the true winners of this award.<\/p>\n

What do you think particularly convinced the jury, and what sets your bridal boutique apart?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The jury was actually our customers, our followers, the audience in the room, everyone who followed the award. We convinced them by being exactly who we truly are: warm, authentic, family-oriented, and simply ourselves.<\/p>\n

We showed ourselves in all our facets so people could really get to know us. And that\u2019s exactly what sets our business apart. The word \u201cC\u00e9lestefamily\u201d<\/em> isn\u2019t just a phrase \u2014 we live it. From the very first moment, our brides and grooms become part of this family, and they feel it.<\/p>\n

We hear it again and again: that we have a very special atmosphere and that people feel truly valued when they\u2019re with us. That\u2019s what defines us.<\/p>\n

Can you tell us a bit about your professional journey and how you entered the wedding industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of 2004, I spontaneously decided to open a bridal boutique. Within four weeks, we collected 150 second-hand dresses and started out in the attic of our home. The start was phenomenal from day one, we had wonderful brides.<\/p>\n

After just two years, the space became too small, and we moved into a proper storefront on the main street in our town. That\u2019s when we also introduced new dresses. Two years later, we had to move again because demand had grown so much that we simply couldn\u2019t accommodate everyone.<\/p>\n

In the next location, still on the same main street in Bahlingen, we added menswear and moved away from second-hand fashion. When that space also became too small, we decided to purchase two neighboring buildings and create a dedicated men\u2019s and women\u2019s store. Since then, we\u2019ve remained at this size.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve now been in business for 20 years. 2025 was our anniversary year \u2014 and so much happened during that time. It\u2019s unbelievable.<\/p>\n

What have you learned since owning a bridal boutique that you didn\u2019t expect?<\/strong><\/p>\n

How incredibly beautiful it is to work in. I was a banker before and then entered a world full of heart and magic. There\u2019s not a single day I don\u2019t enjoy going to the store. Seeing the brides\u2019 glowing eyes and experiencing that magic moment again and again is deeply fulfilling.<\/p>\n

What I didn\u2019t expect, however, is the extent of change our industry is currently undergoing, from economic shifts to AI, Generation Z, and social media. There are so many influences, and we adapt daily to stay current.<\/p>\n

In the past, you had a store, and customers simply walked in. That was it. Today, we are influencers, moderators, and even party girls. We host walk-in days, show ourselves on Instagram and TikTok, and step into bridal gowns ourselves to present them to brides-to-be.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s something you have to learn, and it requires stepping outside your comfort zone. Not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera.<\/p>\n

Looking back, what are you most proud of, and who has supported and motivated you along the way?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m incredibly proud of having successfully run this business for 20 years, together with a team that is very close to my heart and gives everything to make brides and grooms happy. The Wedding King Award was truly the reward this year, showing us that all the effort is worth it.<\/p>\n

I would especially like to thank my family. My husband, who always understands when I work Sundays or come home late at night. He helps whenever we need a cocktail mixer for walk-in days or assistance setting up at trade shows. He stands behind me and supports so much, none of this would be possible without him.<\/p>\n

My mother, who was involved from the very beginning and until recently was one of the best seamstresses on our team. She\u2019s slowing down now, but still alters many gowns.<\/p>\n

My sister, who even chose the name of the business and has been involved from day one. She started as a helping family member and for over ten years has been responsible for accounting and HR. She often helps me organize my thoughts and brings a different perspective \u2014 together, we frequently find the right path.<\/p>\n

And thanks to my children, who never experienced me as a full-time stay-at-home mom but were always \u201cpart of it.\u201d I hope that one of them might eventually return to lead the business into a new era, though it doesn\u2019t look that way at the moment.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s okay. I\u2019ll certainly still be working here for another 20 years \u2014 with passion.<\/p>\n
